How wonderful life would be if dating and marriage relationships were as simple as they frequently appear in story books and movies. The men gallop up on white steeds and "save" the women, and together gallop off into the nightfall and live happily ever after. Although our times have changed a lot, these rudimentary longings are still alive and well in the lives of great numbers of men and women.

It may appear OK for a man in love to hope to rescue a woman…but suppose he can't ride a white charger? In other words: a lot of men in love discover themselves trying to rescue women when they are surrounded by their own challenges. They are feeling the stresses of life and ought to have a little extra help themselves.

The reality is, everybody has problems, and everybody requires a little support sometimes. Plenty of men sometimes find themselves wishing to reach out to women, whether in dating or marital relationships, but they unfortunately lack the power they need as a result of the problems they're dealing with. Many men get preoccupied with the "men of steel" pretence, much to their disadvantage.

Men who are like this don't want to admit their fragility for fear of not being loved. They attempt to sustain a façade of strength even when it's clear to most people close to them that they are in real need of some support.

The vast majority of men are, in large part, judged by the degree of their recognizable abilities. This is rather distinct throughout the dating process when a woman is seeking to make a prudent evaluation about the guy she is dating. Women generally assign a high value on a man's capacity to be sensible. This is commonplace of course, because although the times we live in have changed, women are still a lot more likely to stay at home with their children than men are. This means that the man will be the chief provider and consequently has got to reveal a high degree of dependable behaviour.

Unfortunately though, through the process of growing into a man of responsibility, many men aquire the habit of attempting to never show weakness. Too many of them finish up angry and bewildered as a consequence of the awkward circumstance they find themselves in. On one hand they are grateful to be competent enough to provide assistance to their wife or girlfriend, yet in another sense, they often feel bitter about their requests for assistance.

Their feelings of resentment stem first and foremost from their under addressed weariness levels. They are not as robust as they would desire to be: like some fictional hero. They regularly desire that there wouldn't be so many requests set on them, which is a normal reaction to very high levels of responsibility. They produce difficulties in their marital relationships when they refuse to ask for help because of feelings of humiliation and awkwardness. It's vital for men to aquire the ability to communicate their burdens to their wives without fearing rejection.
